In the final season of its original run, Veronica Mars easily transitions to the next step of its title character’s life while also retaining many of the characters fans have come to love.
Now back together with Logan (Jason Dohring), Veronica (Kristen Bell) is starting her freshman year at Hearst College where girls are being mysteriously raped, including Mac’s (Tina Majorina) new roommate Parker (Julie Gonzalo). Veronica also is dealing with her dad (Enrico Colantoni) seeing a married woman (Laura San Giacomo).
Instead of having one mystery flow throughout the season, there are two major ones that split the season. Both are enticing and come with their fair share of drama, but the first has more of a lasting impact.
Gonzalo and Chris Lowell are great additions to the main cast and allow different dynamics to occur between the established characters.
Final say: Crazy that this was cancelled. ★★★★☆
