While the first season of RuPaul’s Drag Race cannot be denied for its importance and groundbreaking content, it’s definitely interesting to watch after seeing the high-quality production the show produces now.
Excited to pass on his legacy and elevate a new generation of drag queens, RuPaul brings in nine of the best drag queens he could find to vie for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar.
It’s easy to see this show had a low budget in its humble beginnings. The tint of colors and foggy glare on the cameras make it difficult to watch. RuPaul also takes time getting his footing as host – while some of his trademark catchphrases were born this season, you can tell he’s trying to work on some of the others.
Final say: You better work – on this content. ★★☆☆☆
