By: Shania Twain
With so many upbeat songs, including the ever-popular “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!,” Shania Twain will keep you on your feet with Come On Over.
Long before the recent women’s movements of “Time’s Up” and “#MeToo,” Twain’s songs on this album are all about female empowerment. And with all of them being cowritten by her, you can feel the strength and conviction in her voice as she makes her statements.
On “Honey, I’m Home,” Twain switches the typical husband-wife dynamic by having her be the working one whose husband needs to learn how to take care of her when she arrives home. She doubts the men courting her on “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and speaks to the strength of her relationship on “You’re Still the One.”
Final say: Don’t be stupid. You know you’ll love this. ★★★★★
