An underrated gem from NBC, Trial & Error is a hilarious legal mockumentary that follows the style of The Office and Parks and Recreation where the characters continually break the fourth wall and speak with an off-camera interviewer.

When Larry Henderson (John Lithgow) is accused of killing his wife (Andie MacDowell), defense lawyer Josh Segal (Nicholas D’Agosto) is sent in from New York to handle the case. Not used to his eccentric team – Dwayne (Steven Boyer) and Anne (Sherri Shepherd) – Josh struggles to support Larry’s case against attorney Carol Anne Keane (Jayma Mays).

This show is incredibly well-written with one-liners that will continue to surprise you and make you laugh. While the entire main cast is fantastic, Lithgow, Mays and Shepherd are the best with the delivery of their lines.

Final say: An unexpected ending makes a silly show fantastic. ★★★★★
