Filled with emotion and hard truths to be learned, Dogfight is fantastically staged with an incredible score by future-Tony, Grammy and Academy Award winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

On their last night before heading to war, Marines Eddie Birdlace (Derek Klena), Boland (Josh Segarra) and Bernstein (Nick Blaemire) host a competition called the Dogfight where the person with the ugliest date is crowned the winner. Eddie meets Rose Fenny (Lindsay Mendez) and chooses her as his date before learning of her kind soul.

At the beginning of both acts, the men have group numbers featuring beautifully strong harmonies. While their characters may be unlikable, you’ll love their songs. Meanwhile, you’ll feel extremely empathetic towards Mendez’s Rose. She plays her rollercoaster of emotions with grace and always holds her dignity.

Final say: This is some kinda time. ★★★★★
