The third season of Insecure finds Issa (Issa Rae) at a crossroads trying to figure out what to do with life. And as always, Rae makes for a relatable, funny and flawed character.
Unsatisfied with her job at “We Got Y’all” and driving for Lyft, Issa is living on Daniel’s (Y’lan Noel) couch as she tries to get back on her feet. Molly (Yvonne Orji) starts a job at a new, all-black law firm and can’t quite get her footing.
Though you’ll be sucked in from the start, the season’s fifth episode, “High-Like,” is possibly the best and funniest episode of the series so far. With a strong focus on all four female leads – Issa, Molly, Kelli (Natasha Rothwell) and Tiffany (Amanda Seales) – there’s a bond of sisterhood even in their worst moments.
Final say: Obsessed-like. ★★★★★
