From the season four episode of the same name, Glee’s Britney 2.0 is overproduced and feels less authentic than some of the show’s other episodes dedicated to a singular performer.

Lea Michele’s rendition of “Oops!… I Did It Again” unnecessarily remixes the classic sound to make it sexier for its accompanying scene but instead makes you wish you were listening to the original instead. Meanwhile, Melissa Benoist’s “Everytime” has beautiful vocals but the sound mixing was done poorly, and her voice ends up lost amongst the instruments.

The best take on this album – and most original sounding – is the mashup of Britney Spears’ “(You Drive Me) Crazy” and Aerosmith’s “Crazy” covered by Benoist and Jacob Artist. The vocals complement each other and gives both a new romantic sound.

Final say: Might hold it against them. ★★★☆☆
