With stunning animation and a beautiful score, Up is a story about life after loss that shows you can have a grand adventure at any age.

Following the loss of his wife Ellie, Carl Fredricksen (Ed Asner) is being forced out of their home to go to a retirement village. With a lot of balloons, Carl plans to move his house to their long-dreamed destination, Paradise Falls. In doing so, he gets more than he bargained for with Russell (Jordan Nagai), Dug (Bob Peterson) and Kevin (Peter Docter) joining along.

The first section of this film that tells Carl and Ellie’s story is heartbreakingly sentimental. In less than five minutes, you see a strong relationship that goes through ups and downs.

From there, the film is filled with excitement and likable characters.

Final say: What’s not to love? ★★★★★
