Based on the Off-Broadway musical of the same name, The Last Five Years is about the beginning and ending of a romance and everything in between. And while this storyline may be difficult to follow at times, the acting and singing is incredible.

Cathy (Anna Kendrick) begins at the end of her relationship with Jamie (Jeremy Jordan), while he starts at the beginning. Their stories continue backwards and forwards meeting once in the middle around their wedding.

Onstage Jamie and Cathy’s parts are separate with the actors performing alone, which makes the stories somewhat easier to follow. Here Jordan and Kendrick are in every scene making the timeline significantly blur.

However, Jordan and Kendrick have incredible chemistry and are joyfully playful in the good times and gut-wrenching in the hard times.
