Deservedly labeled one of the best action films of all-time, Mad Max – Fury Road is a beautifully shot road battle with fantastic acting and a feminist edge.
In a post-apocalyptic desert world, Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) is on the run from cult leader Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) as she tries to bring his five wives to safety. Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) joins forces with Furiosa as he escapes imprisonment.
The production of this film is absolutely beautiful. Despite being a wasteland, the colors are brilliantly vibrant allowing for the imagery to be just as thrilling as the chase.
Right at the surface, the film is about women helping other women and standing up against the male forces that try to control them. And with this, we see many different types of women from age to size.
Final say: Incredible action. ★★★★★
