A political biography that comes during one of the most politically unstable times in history, you almost question if Vice was made to scare you or for nostalgic purposes.
Dick Cheney (Christian Bale) rose through the ranks of politics in Washington, D.C. by serving under multiple administrations, but was at his most powerful when he became vice president to George W. Bush (Sam Rockwell).
Bale basically disappears into the role of Cheney. You often forget it’s him. His incredible scene partner Amy Adams as Cheney’s wife, Lynn, enhances his performance. Adams always gives great performances, but is stronger than ever here.
Director Adam McKay makes an incredible film with the technical skills. The film could even play to both fans and critics of Cheney.
Final say: Cheney changed history – you decide if it was for better or worse. ★★★★☆
