With more focus on the characters all together this season, Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns for an incredible fourth season.
After a stint in the witness protection program, Jake (Andy Samberg) and Holt (Andre Braugher) return to the 9-9 and the whole squad gets put on night shift. Gina (Chelsea Peretti) sustains an injury and later has a life-changing event, while Jake and Amy (Melissa Fumero) take their relationship to the next level.
One of the series’ best episodes comes in this season and takes on a more serious tone. Terry (Terry Crews) is a victim of racial profiling while on his street and takes on the white police officer that did it. While emotions are high in this episode for many characters, the comedy is still there and sheds light on an important issue.
Final say: Comedy that’s topical. ★★★★★
