Some kids movies are just so much fun. They might not have the best storyline or move you in any way, but you love them anyway. This is one of those movies.
When Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick) throws a huge party to celebrate the anniversary of the Trolls’ escape from the evil Bergens, she ends up leading Chef (Christine Baranski) straight to them. With the help of pessimistic Branch (Justin Timberlake), Poppy must save her friends.
From the very start, it’s clear how important the music is. While he doesn’t sing until later in the film, Timberlake brings his Grammy-winning vocals. Kendrick gets to sing more and brings joy and sass to every track.
The film moves very fast. It’s fun, but it’s smart that they don’t drag it out.
Final say: Full of color and happiness that’ll rub off. ★★★☆☆
