Book: Mockingjay

Third Book of The Hunger Games series

Katniss Everdeen faces her greatest challenges yet in the final novel of Suzanne Collins’ incredibly popular The Hunger Games series.

As a revolution begins, everything is in ruin. The thought-to-be-destroyed District 13 is actually in tact, the Capitol has captured Peeta and new leaders are igniting the fight back. Katniss must accept her role as the face of movement and do what the leaders tell her to do.

Like many final novels, the wrapping up of this story comes with major character losses. Many of these are frustrating instead of acceptable. These characters don’t get the final moments they deserve.

The ending is all over the place and will make you reread parts to comprehend what’s happening. Nothing feels justified.

Final say: It’s unfortunate that the promise this series had falls apart at the end. ★★★☆☆
