This political thriller packs incredible drama into six episodes and is worth every minute.
David Budd (Richard Madden) is a British Army veteran suffering from PTSD who is now being assigned to protect Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keeley Hawes). While he doesn’t agree with her politics, he will do everything he can to protect her.
Madden – of Game of Thrones fame – is the breakout star of the season. Even in the first scene, the intensity with which he plays this character is enough to win him awards – which he did at the Golden Globes. His chemistry with both Hawes and Sophie Rundle (as David’s wife Vicky) is fantastic.
The plot takes many twists and turns. With an ending that you won’t have seen coming, Bodyguard will leave you speechless.
Final say: You’ll be begging for more. ★★★★★
