The superhero movie that has become a cultural icon and the toast of awards season, Black Panther is one of the best action movies in years.

After the death of T’Chaka (John Kani), T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is crowned king of Wakanda. However, his throne is challenged by his unknown cousin Erik “Killmonger” Stevens (Michael B. Jordan). Both will fight with whatever they have to rule the African country.

This movie is a thrill from the start with incredible performances by everyone involved. While the men in the film are powerful, the four female leads often steal their scenes. Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong’o show incredible feats of strength, while Letitia Wright provides the most laughs.

While all the Marvel films are fun to watch, none have the energy and design – those costumes! – that Black Panther has.
