What could’ve been an awful plot for the LGBTQ community is fixed with a beautiful and hilarious self-discovery twist.
After they’re mistaken as lesbians, Karma (Katie Stevens) and Amy (Rita Volk) devise a plan to become popular in their forward-thinking high school. They accept their nomination as homecoming queens, but when they kiss on stage, Amy realizes she might not be faking it.
The performances in this show are brilliant and hit every right note with their comedy. While Karma’s character is hard to like, Stevens plays her with great charisma. Meanwhile, Volk has heartfelt moments as the sexually confused Amy.
Their co-stars, Gregg Sulkin, Michael Willett and Bailey De Young, also all bring their own charming quirks in smartly written characters.
Final say: You won’t have to fake loving it. ★★★★★
