The book that preceded the Netflix phenomenon, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is everything a teen romance novel should be.
Lara Jean Covey has loved exactly five boys before and has written a letter to each one explaining why. Using them as a way to get over the guys and never intending to send them, Lara Jean is shocked when they get out. She starts fake dating one of them, Peter Kavinsky, so she can prove she’s not in love with her sister’s ex-boyfriend.
This book is such as easy read as Lara Jean’s voice rings true and flows well. She’s a relatable character, whose internal panics will have any reader saying, “Yep, that’s me.” And while the outcome of the novel is pretty predictable, every moment of getting there is truly enjoyable.
Final say: All the love. ★★★★★
