The first season of The Office introduced us to beloved characters, but had a few bumps on the way.
In a documentary-type style, the lives of the employees at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Inc. in Scranton, PA. are followed. Leading the office is eccentric boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell).
During the first season, most episodes follow the same storyline and scripts of its UK counterpart. While the humor works overseas, it doesn’t really fit American audiences. Unlike its following seasons, there aren’t too many genuine laughs here.
The actors are incredible though. Carell leads a great ensemble of characters actors with so many unique personalities appearing onscreen. However, it’s Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) that are the most interesting to watch.
Final say: Rough start to a fantastic future. ★★★☆☆
