Wreck-It Ralph is such an underrated Disney movie premiering in between hits Tangled and Frozen, but it shouldn’t be missed.
Ralph (John C. Reilly) is the main antagonist in the Fix-It Felix Jr. arcade game. When he decided he’s tired of being ignored by the other characters in his game and of being a villain, he goes on a journey to become a hero.
The animation in this is colorful and has a wave of nostalgia with characters like Sonic the Hedgehog, Q*bert, Bowser and Donkey Kong all making appearances.
Watching two outcasts like Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) make a name for themselves is a joy ride. They work together well despite their obvious differences.
Alan Tudyk also plays an incredibly spirited, yet sinister King Candy – a throwback Ed Wynn character.
Final say: Bad guys can win. ★★★★☆
