Hollywood director John Boorman writes a behind the scenes novel about the inner workings of a film and how to make a success.
Much to the dismay of his producer Jack, Daniel Shaw has just made a horrible film that needs to be a hit. Jack’s wife Bella is commissioned to write a book that tells the story of making a movie. The drama of this film takes over the lives of everyone involved.
While an interesting look at the film industry and full of starry images, this debut novel is full of issues. There are multiple typos throughout the book and parts where a quote is mistakenly attributed to a character that is not even in the scene. It could have done with another round of edits before being released.
Final say: Interesting, but flawed commentary on the industry. ★★☆☆☆
