In the second season, one speedster is replaced with another, while fans of the comics get to see some throwback characters appear.

After Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) time-turning rips the time-space continuum, he opens up Central City to alternate Earths. Harry Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), who is an alternate Flash both appear from Earth-2. Together, they fight against Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd), an evil speedster looking to take Barry down.

Many of the new characters are welcome additions to the show. Both Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) and Jesse Wells (Violett Beane) bring new energy to the show and play well off the established characters. Barry also receives a love interest in Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten), who is just as peppy as her name sounds.

Final say: A great second season for the CW superhero favorite. ★★★★☆
