Academy Award-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld breaks into the music field with this debut EP.

One always questions when actors turn to music and the question mark was especially large for the young star because she easily could’ve gone down the super auto tuned road. Fortunately, she didn’t.

This EP is incredibly strong with its material. “Love Myself” is a self-empowerment anthem that you can bop to in clubs, while “You’re Such A…” is clever with its lyrics never quite saying what she thinks of the guy.

“Rock Bottom” is about being in a slightly unstable relationship, but loving the other nonetheless and the Joe Jonas-lead band DNCE features on the remix. The only slight misstep is “Hell Nos and Headphones,” which has great lyrics but is forgettable.

Final say: A preview of amazing things to come. ★★★☆☆
