Like the film, the soundtrack is great even if the storyline is light.
Sad that the Bergens don’t have a holiday to celebrate now that Trollstice has been cancelled, Troll Queen Poppy (Anna Kendrick) presents a number of Troll celebrations to Bridget (Zooey Deschanel) and Gristle (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).
A good portion of this special is Poppy and her friends presenting the celebrations, so not much is happening here other than learning all about the crazy troll holidays. But, the spectacle is fun to watch nonetheless. You’ll be transported into a world full of color and delight.
While some voice actors in other films do little more than lend their voices, you can tell how much the actors are acting here. Kendrick, Justin Timberlake and Deschanel are splendid and take their characters to the max.
Final say: Fun, if nothing more. ★★★☆☆
