Broadway Revival Cast: Eva Noblezada, Jon Jon Briones, Alistair Brammer, Katie Rose Clarke, Nicholas Christopher, Devin Ilaw & Rachelle Ann Go

If you aren’t looking for a fun and uplifting show, this revival is as brilliant and emotional as it’s ever been.

As the Vietnam War is coming to a close and the Americans are evacuating Saigon, G.I. Chris (Alistair Brammer) meets 17-year-old Kim (Eva Noblezada) who is working her first night as a prostitute for the Engineer (Jon Jon Briones). Chris tries to take Kim back to the USA, but she gets stuck in Saigon.

The music in this show – from the Les Misérables team – is astounding and the cast takes it on with incredible power. Noblezada was fresh out of high school when she was chosen for the role and I’d say she deserved this year’s Tony more than Bette Midler did.

And, the helicopter scene will leave you breathless.

Final say: One of the best performances I’ve seen. ★★★★★
