Film: Hocus Pocus

Released: July 16, 1993

Directed by: Kenny Ortega

Starring: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Thora Birch, Vinessa Shaw, Sean Murray & Doug Jones

Really, what other Halloween movie do you need? Hocus Pocus is my all-time favorite Halloween film.

Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy) are accused of witchcraft and executed in Salem, Massachusetts in 1693. 300 years later, Max Dennison (Omri Katz) ignites the spell that brings them back to life for one night.

Midler has one of the most iconic musical scenes in Disney history with “I Put a Spell on You.” The only bad thing about the number is that it’s never been released on an album. But with Parker and Najimy as her backup singers and dancers, the number is flawless.

There is so much clever comedy that you will relate to with the witches and each new viewing brings new laughs.

Final say: Their magic will put a spell on you. ★★★★★
