After a stellar first season, Abbott Elementary had a lot to live up to and thankfully, there is nothing stopping this hilarious and heartfelt show.

Janine (Quinta Brunson) and Gregory (Tyler James Williams) navigate their emotions about each other. Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter) struggles with a combined second and third grade class. Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) faces off against a former student (Leslie Odom Jr.) looking to turn Abbott into a charter school.

While the show is comedically brilliant with some of the best performances on television, the passion and caring within the characters is what makes the show a standout. There’s a focus on community and bettering students who might not be given the best chance, plus some great social commentary – a stand out being a white man teaching black history.

Final say: Holding tight to that “A” rating. ★★★★★
