While the first chapter of It allowed for some beautiful moments in the innocence of the children characters, Chapter Two has a lengthy story that often separates the characters.

Though Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) has been gone for 27 years, his return to Derry alerts Mike Hanlon (Isaiah Mustafah) to reconnect his friends. With all but Stanley (Andy Bean) returning, the now-adults must face issues of their past.

The adult versions of the characters are perfectly casted with Bill Hader standing out as the wise-cracking counterpart to Finn Wolfhard’s Richie. However, the best moments still come from the younger actors.

Stephen King is infamous for his shaky endings and even though this one is altered from the book, it’s still lacking. Throughout, the visual effects take away from the scares outside of Skarsgård’s Pennywise.

Final say: It could be better. ★★★☆☆
