By expanding upon the world of the Abbott family in the first film, A Quiet Place Part II allows for a larger scale of anxiety-inducing action and strong character development.
After the death of Lee (John Krasinski), Evelyn (Emily Blunt) leads her kids, including Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe), to find a safer home. They end up at former friend Emmett’s (Cillian Murphy) hideout where he is alone.
There’s a lot of splitting up in this film, and the editing makes it more intense than seeing the trope in other horror films. You’ll be on the edge of your seat almost the entire film.
While Blunt and Murphy expertly lead the film, young actors Simmonds and Jupe command screen presence and individually have fantastic arcs that build up their characters.
Final say: You’ll scream for this Quiet Place. ★★★★★
