Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse uses unique animation not often seen onscreen anymore with a powerful story to make this exciting for audiences of all ages. In fact, this film ranks amongst the best Spider-Man films of all-time.
The overwhelmed and somewhat lost Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is thrilled when Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) comes back into his life. They end up at the headquarters of an elite group named the Spider-Society, led by Miguel O’Hara (Oscar Isaac).
The film focuses heavily on the trauma and otherness that is felt by the heroes, which juxtaposes the comedy that we always get from the leads. This is represented best with Gwen Stacy in her beautiful watercolor world.
The voice cast is brilliant with welcome additions from Isaac, Issa Rae and Daniel Kaluuya.
Final say: Can’t wait for more. ★★★★★
