The latest entry in the Predator franchise is easily the best. By making the story about the main human character, the script allows for development and actual connections being made.

While trying to assert herself as a hunter within her Comanche tribe, Naru (Amber Midthunder) discovers a predator amongst them. Though the tribe doesn’t believe her at first, they soon stand in front of her to fight not believing she can take it down herself.

It’s brilliant what this film did in setting the scene about 300 years before the original. In doing so, a completely new story can be told with only the villain being the link between the other films.

Midthunder is fantastic in the lead role and is probably the first character in the franchise that you’ll actually care about.

Final say: Other franchises should take note. ★★★★★
