For the first time in the show’s history, Élite no longer has any remaining season one cast members, which makes the current season all about the ever-troubled Commerford siblings.

Patrick (Manu Ríos) and Iván (André Lamoglia) have relationship issues that stem from both of their relationships with Iván’s dad Cruz (Carloto Cotta). Ari (Carla Díaz) copes with the loss of Samuel (season 1-5’s Itzan Escamilla) through alcohol. And, Mencía (Martina Cariddi) has her doubts about the newest “it” couple.

The main problem with this season is story arcs don’t matter. Only the wealthy Isadora (Valentina Zenere) has brilliant character development that shows her strength. But every issue following Patrick, Ari and Mencía lands them in the same place.

Also, the way a new trans storyline is handled doesn’t feel like the correct representation.

Final say: Not quite an elite tier. ★★★☆☆
