Though the second Indiana Jones film may not rise to the same level as the first and third, Temple of Doom still holds its own as a dark adventure that’ll thrill audiences.
When their plane crashes after leaving Shanghai, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford), Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw) and Short Round (Ke Huy Quan) find themselves in a desperate Indian village. They’re asked to retrieve a magical stone that protects the village and save the missing children.
With two new characters being introduced, the results go different ways. Capshaw’s Willie is a textbook damsel in distress who yells and complains every chance she gets, which alienates her with the audience. However, Quan’s Short Round is a fantastic sidekick and provides great humor throughout.
The content matter is freaky making this the scariest of the series.
Final say: Doomed is an exaggeration. ★★★☆☆
