Coming into a third season, The Umbrella Academy siblings are faced with worldwide destruction again, but now the story feels like its run its course.
When the Hargreeves return to 2019, they find another supergroup of siblings adopted by their father Reginald (Colm Feore) named “The Sparrow Academy.” Their time traveling has created a kugelblitz that rapidly consumes and destroys the universe around them.
The best part about this season is the transition of Elliot Page’s character from Vanya to Viktor, which mirrors Page’s real-life transition. While most siblings easily adapt, Luther (Tom Hopper) has a bit of confusion at first but is willing to learn.
The worst part about this season is Allison’s (Emmy Raver-Lampman) continual downfall in her personal life that makes her do actions that are out of character.
Final say: Some great elements, but most suffer. ★★★☆☆
