While the intentions of bringing Frozen to Broadway were good, there’s a lack of magic in the stage show that the movie provided.

On the day of her coronation, Queen Elsa (Alyssa Fox) accidentally reveals her icy powers that immediately show a threat to her kingdom of Arendelle. Her sister, Princess Anna (Patti Murin), leaves Prince Hans (Joe Carroll) in charge while she goes to search for her.

While the film contained just eight songs, the stage show features 20. Unfortunately, none of the new ones stand out against the familiar tunes and it feels like a lot of padding.

Carroll looks like Disney prince, but his villainous reveal is too subdued. The best parts of show end up being the technical aspects of Elsa’s dress reveal and Andrew Pirozzi’s Sven.

Final say: Let this one go. ★★★☆☆
