With the amount of political distrust by Americans in recent years between the Trump administration and elected officials throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Assassins has its perfect moment to be revived.

The many historical figures who attempted both successfully and unsuccessfully to kill the president of the United States come together to tell their tales that led them to horrific assassinations.

Designing the set to be presented almost in the round with audience on three sides makes it feel like anyone around you could break next and allows you be part of the madness.

Combining some of the best Broadway talents makes for an invigorating performance. Will Swenson is unsettling as Charles Guiteau and is easily the standout amongst the strong cast. Tavi Gevinson and Adam Chanler-Berat give a moving performance of “Unworthy of Your Love.”

Final say: A killer show. ★★★★☆
