Though it doesn’t rise to the same level, season three of The Good Place has its fun in backing up the timeline to before the start of the first season.
Michael (Ted Danson) and Janet (D’Arcy Carden) oversee the timelines of Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson Harper), Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jason (Manny Jacinto) as they’re returned to Earth to test if they could actually become people worthy of going to the Good Place after they die.
Carden has never received enough credit for her perfect portrayal as Janet and in a brilliant turn this season, she plays Janet versions of Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason in the episode “Janet(s).” She’s able to truly showcase her comedic talents as she embodies the personalities of her costars.
The season suffers due to not being in the afterlife, but the second half of the season provides great entertainment as they figure out their futures.
Final say: Still good, but not as great.
