Based on the mind-boggling real-life story of Frank Abagnale Jr., Catch Me If You Can is a stylish and entertaining crime film brought to life with Steven Spielberg’s stellar direction.
Before he turned 19, Frank Abagnale Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) became a famous con man who posed as a pilot for Pan Am Airways, a doctor in Georgia and a Louisiana prosecutor. FBI agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) becomes aware of Abagnale’s check fraud and pursues him.
The combination of Spielberg, DiCaprio and Hanks is undeniably genius. The three are masters in their crafts and know exactly what moves to make. DiCaprio will even have you believing he can work all three occupations.
It’s a cat-and-mouse game with Frank and Carl. They’ll have you on the edge of your seat.
Final say: Catch this if you can. ★★★★☆
