With an iconic ending sequence that easily lands on the list of most memorable dance moments in a movie, Dirty Dancing is a great love story that is brimming with energy.

Baby Houseman (Jennifer Grey) and her family are spending the summer at a Catskills resort. When dancer Penny Johnson (Cynthia Rhodes) gets into some personal trouble, Baby trains to be Johnny Castle’s (Patrick Swayze) new partner, while also falling for him.

While the dancing in the film is what makes it memorable, there’s also a lasting impression of two young people discovering who they are together. Grey and Swayze share intense passion and are able to both laugh and fight with each other.

Beneath it all, Dirty Dancing also deals with a dark subplot. It’s treated sensitively with the characters involved.

Final say: The time of your life. ★★★★★
