Following the typical romantic comedy tropes, Nobody’s Fool will wear you out with its uninspired story and stiff acting.
Recently out of jail and living with her successful sister Danica (Tika Sumpter), Tanya (Tiffany Haddish) is worried that Danica is being catfished by her boyfriend. Danica continues to ignore coffee shop owner Frank’s (Omari Hardwick) advances while working on an important work project with Kalli (Amber Riley).
While Haddish brings out all the stops and seemingly improvs a lot, she can’t save Tyler Perry’s weak script. None of the characters feel fully realized and the cast – comprised of fantastic actors – suffer. It’s most noticeable in Riley who seems not to know why she’s there.
You’ll guess every part of the story and will figure out the end within the first half hour.
Final say: You’ll feel fooled watching this. ★☆☆☆☆
