So often now scary movies aren’t scary at all, but if you’re looking for a true fright, this will do it.
When the Perron family moves into a new house, they quickly realize that it may be haunted. They enlist the help of Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga) – well-known demonologists. The Warrens discover there is an evil force in the house that must be rid of.
Nothing is scarier than when a horror film says that it was based on a true story. And when you watch this, you won’t be able to imagine that a family actually went through something like this.
They film doesn’t rely on jump scares to get the viewers attention. But even when you anticipate a scare, the result is still terrifying.
Final say: Probably the best modern horror film. ★★★★★
