By: Maroon 5
Five years after the release of their debut album, Maroon 5 is back with a deep funk shift into the pop realm. You can clearly hear the changes from Songs About Jane, but it’s a welcome one.
Listening to the songs of this album, you’ll feel the music flowing throughout your whole body. With every song written by a member of the band, they’re able to put all of their energy into each song.
The tracks are strong from start to finish. Kicking off the album with “If I Never See Your Face Again,” Maroon 5 shows their attitude with a dance-inducing beat. The middle of the album is the heartfelt pop ballad “Won’t Go Home Without You,” before ending with the love sick “Back at Your Door.”
Final say: Over ten years later, it’s still Maroon 5’s best showing. ★★★★★
