The third book of Chris Colfer’s modern fairytale series brings many emotional punches for main characters Alex and Connor Bailey.

At the start of the novel, the twins are separated with Alex studying to be the next Fairy Godmother in the fairytale world and Connor going on a class trip to Germany in the human world. When Connor realizes the Brothers Grimm left a message of warning for the Land of Stories, he must reunite with his sister.

It’s fun to see the twins growing up in this novel and really start to take on bigger roles in their own lives. Alex is discovering her own powers and Connor is embracing his talent as a writer.

With several new storylines, this book is refreshing after the subpar second novel.
