This novel teaches you to appreciate the people you have in your life because they may not be there long.
Hazel Grace Lancaster’s cancer has spread to her lungs and it’s uncertain how much time she has left. When her mom makes her attend a teen therapy group, she meets Augustus Waters, whose osteosarcoma has subsided. The two then have an epic romance.
There is immense beauty in every chapter of this novel. Author John Green will make you laugh, scream and cry – especially cry.
It’s a lesson in mortality. The relationship between the main two and their parents is heart-wrenching.
When it comes to romance, it’s like no teen novel has existed before this and Green makes sure none will ever top it. This is the stuff dreams are made of.
Final say: Keep a box of tissues close. ★★★★★
