The second Harry Potter journey may be slightly less thrilling than the first, but brings a creepiness that the other books don’t have.

In his second year, Harry Potter encounters a monster moving throughout Hogwarts. It petrifies – freezes – all that it comes in contact with. At the same time, Harry discovers a journal from the mysterious Tom Riddle.

While we get to spend more time with favorite characters and see even more of the magic world, there’s more darkness brought into the story as well. With that, we learn more about the history of Hogwarts. J.K. Rowling writes with such passion and knowledge that you think Hogwarts is a real place.

The evil forces that come to be in the end will have readers on the edge of their seat and holding their breath.

Final say: An intense sequel. ★★★★☆
