The Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin-led comedy takes a bit of a dramatic turn in its second season.
Now used to being without their husbands (Martin Sheen & Sam Waterston), Grace (Fonda) and Frankie (Tomlin) are learning to move on with their lives. Their experiencing life, trying new things and might even come across new love on their own.
As with the first season, the show tackles aging issues with a lighter air than most would. In the second to last episode, Frankie has to cope with a friend asking her to help with assisted suicide. It’s an issue rarely talked about, which causes moral dilemmas for both Grace and Frankie.
Sheen and Waterston’s characters are in a tiff the majority of the season, which which sadly pushes them apart.
Final say: A stunning representation of the aging adult. ★★★☆☆
