While DC Comics’ movies may be dark and dramatic, The Flash speeds in as the best superhero show around.
After the explosion of a particle accelerator at Star Labs, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) discovers he has super speed. While working with the team at Star Labs to enhance his skills, Barry becomes the Flash and works to protect Central City from meta-humans who were also affected by the explosion.
Gustin is fantastic as the titular character. While he doesn’t look like your typical hero, the Flash never has. Justin’s comedic chops bring a lightness to the show that was first witnessed in its darker predecessor, Arrow.
Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is shady from the start and plays two-faced well, while Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold brings sass that adds camp to the show.
Final say: A show worthy of its hero. ★★★★☆
