First, I need to say. What an incredible cast!
In this adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel, Kenneth Branagh plays Detective Hercule Poirot. While on the Orient Express, the train becomes stranded and passenger Samuel Ratchett (Johnny Depp) is murdered. Now, Poirot must determine which of the passengers is the murderer.
The journey of finding the murderer is a wild one that takes many different paths. The beginning of the movie is a bit dull, but once they get to the murder, things speed up. And the twist ending will make your jaw drop.
The cast is full of powerhouses, though the unfortunate part is some are shadowed as their characters aren’t the main focus. Interestingly enough, it’s the newbies who get more screen time than the seasoned pros.
Final say: Quite the exciting story, once the murder takes place. ★★★☆☆
