Former Glee star Darren Criss was a standout vocalist on the show and fans have been dying for him to release original material since the end of the show, and he does not disappoint.

Criss has been very clear that when he released music, he wasn’t looking to make chart toppers, but wanted his music to reflect him and the songwriter vibe he’s always had.

Homework features four original songs with the fifth being a stripped-down cover of Les Misérables’ “I Dreamed a Dream,” which is usually sung by a woman but adds a bittersweet tone with Criss’ vocals.

The final song, “The Day That the Dance is Over,” is the standout ballad and shows how strong both his vocals and songwriting skills are.
