Based on the classic 1983 movie, A Christmas Story follows the tale of young Ralphie (Johnny Rabe) who wants nothing more than a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas. He tries to convince his parents to get it for him, but circumstances keep getting in his way.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this musical. The comedic timing that the cast has is incredible. When I watched the movie, I didn’t feel that and I enjoyed this so much more.

The child cast is absolutely incredible, but one of the best is Luke Spring. You might not notice him until Act II, but his tap dancing skills during “You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out” will have you comparing him to a young Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly.

Final say: A Christmas Story will be added to your yearly traditions. ★★★★☆
